The One with the Birthday on the Orient Express
A client wanted a special trip for her husband’s 60th birthday with real wow factor. They stayed in Venice for 4 nights, in an oppulent hotel with a Grand Canal View room, and we booked some excursions to experience the history and culture. The One Where I Climbed a Mountain in the Dark for the Most Beautiful Sunrise Views
A few years ago, I went on an adventure holiday to Borneo. The trip was full of fun activities like snorkelling, swimming, and ziplining, but the highlight of my trip was the Mount Kinabalu trek. We got up at 1am, and for the climb up, we had to wear head torches to see our way. I couldn’t walk the next day but the sunrise view from the summit was worth it all. Find out about the shenanigans that entailed and why I recommend getting outside of your comfort zone when you travel.
Just look at that sunset!
The One Where My Clients Had Their Beach Holiday Despite the Wildfires
My clients had a gorgeous beachfront villa booked in Rhodes and were excited for their family beach holiday. However, three days before their trip, Rhodes was dealing with wildfires, and while none of the beach resorts were impacted, due to road closures, transfer companies couldn’t get tourists to their hotels. I spoke to the tour operator to check if my client would be impacted and they informed us that the road was open and that they wouldn’t be able to give the client a refund if they cancelled. Find out what happened when the road was closed and how we got my clients to their villa for their beach holiday.
The One With the Solo Adventure
A friend of mine is a solo traveller who loves adventure travel. Her next adventure was the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu in Peru. There are many options available to see Machu Picchu, from no-trekking options to a 4-day trek and camping. My friend decided that if she was going to do it, she would do it properly – so we booked her a 4-day Inca Trail trek. As she was travelling solo, we booked a group tour with a trusted supplier so she had camaraderie and a knowledgeable guide. Find out how we planned her trip so she saw both sunrise and sunset at Machu Picchu.

Nothing can prepare you for the sheer physical exhaustion of continuous trekking at altitude or the unique challenges of life at altitude. Find out if I made it to Base Camp and the unique fuel source used by Everest tea houses.
